On 17 October, we’re celebrating the official launch of the Urban Fermentory.

After years of teasing, discussing, thinking and building together, we’re ready to mark this moment with everyone who has followed, supported or become part of the adventure. A shared home at Be-Here where we produce, experiment, teach and learn from each other, with fermentation at the heart of it.

And we have quite a few birthdays to celebrate: 7 years of Fermenthings, 5 years of Coopains, 3 years of Nord-ou-est and the first year of Shadow Reaper.

It’s also the occasion to welcome and make official the place of more projects in our growing collective: Neat&Nature with kefir and workshops, Riot with kombucha, Untitled Ginger Bug project, Piro Siro with Nepalese oils, Fel Fel with harissa and workshops, and KuuKuu with Japanese cooking workshops. Some have already been working alongside us; others are just getting started here.

We also keep a warm place in our hearts for Nuu Food and SKBI, who were part of the adventure before we made it official. Their products are still available in our shop, and Nuu Food continues to produce at Be-Here. They helped shape what we’re celebrating today.

For the occasion, Coopains will prepare a special bake, KuuKuu will host a workshop, and our bar will bring together our members’ drinks for you to discover and taste. A pop-up food truck will serve plenty of concoctions, and we’ll gather around a shared dinner with our Ferment Lab members.

Come meet the people behind the projects, see what’s happening in the space and taste what’s been brewing. We’ve been talking about this for a long time. It will feel good to celebrate it together.
