Like fermentation, change takes time, care, and collaboration.
This event is part of the Fermolution campaign by the Slow Food Youth Network, celebrating Terra Madre Day 2025. Fermolution uses fermentation as a metaphor for transformation โ€” social, cultural, and ecological โ€” showing how simple, hands-on practices can lead to slow, creative, and connected change.

Hosted by Fermenthings / Urban Fermentory (Brussels), this session invites participants to explore the link between microbes and circular thinking.

Through the concept of Circular Fermentation, weโ€™ll look at how fermentation can serve as a living model for sustainability and regeneration. Drawing from daily practice at Fermenthings โ€” where food waste becomes flavor, and collaboration is as essential as microbes โ€” this talk will connect ancient knowledge with modern ecological challenges.

Weโ€™ll explore:

  • What microbial ecosystems can teach us about cooperation and resilience

  • How fermentation embodies circularity and zero-waste principles

  • How we can translate these lessons into social and cultural systems

  • Real examples from Fermenthingsโ€™ ongoing work with food, education, and ecology

Join us to ferment ideas โ€” and reimagine what circular living can mean in our everyday practices.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Register for free to join the online session.
Participants will receive the event link after registration.
